We can appraise all kinds of jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, watches and more. We recommend that you have your jewelry appraised at least every 5 years. Most appraisals are done for the purpose of obtaining insurance coverage in the case of loss, damage or theft. Appraisals can also be used for many other different situations such as; estate tax evaluation, casualty loss, dissolution of marriage, collateral and barter purposes, and value comparison.

Pearl/Bead Stringing

The pearl has long been known as the "Queen of Gems" and is the June birthstone. To ensure years of enjoyment, we recommend that pearls be inspected regularly and re-strung every few years. Whether they are graduated or multi strands we can make your pearl heirloom look like new.

Laser Welding

We use laser welding as a faster, cleaner, and more cost effective way to manufacture and repair problems. Laser welding is done using a wave length of light to accomplish the welding process. The light is concentrated and can be adjusted and controlled by the jeweler, much in the same way as adjusting the flame of a soldering torch. All traditional jewelry metals can be laser welded.

Repair

At Westphal Jewelers we do all our jewelry repairs on-site. Your jewelry is never shipped off to some unknown location for repair. Whether you need a ring sized, a new clasp for a necklace or bracelet, a diamond set, or your watch repaired, we do it all!

Mechanical Watch Service

Mechanical watch service includes the disassembly and overhaul of the movement and examination of all parts. We place the parts in a special chemical solution that dissolves dirt, dust, and emulsify dried out oils. When the watch is reassembled, we use special oils to lubricate all of the essential parts. We also replace damaged or worn out parts and will re-seal water-resistant cases. It is recommended that all water-resistant watches be tested at least once a year for case tightness. We recommend that a general overhaul of mechanical watches be performed every three years.
